2000 Central Coast
This appellation follows the coastline from Santa Barbara to the San Francisco Bay, benefiting from the cooling influence of the pacific. Nine distinct vineyards, primarily from Monterey, San Benito and the Edna Valley provided pinot noir for this blend, giving a lovely diversity of flavors to the wine. The climate in 2000 was ideal in these cool regions, allowing us to achieve ripe flavors and supple tannins while retaining acidity and balance. A core of bright cherry fruit, subtle toast, and notes of earth and spice make this a versatile companion to a wide array of cuisines. It is drinking very nicely now, yet has balance and structure to allow up to five years cellaring if desired.
