2000 Russian River Valley - Windsor Gardens Vineyard
This vineyard has been the backbone of our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir for a
decade now,yet this is our first vineyard designated bottling of the wine.The
2000 vintage gave us lovely mature fruit flavors and ripe mouthfeel that begged
to be kept apart.Aromas of concentrated cherry jam leap from the glass followed
by lingering spice and toast notes.The flavors mirror these aromas,with red
cherry fruit lasting well into the finish,and the wine displays a remarkable
suppleness in the mouth.Ten months in French oak provided integration and
structural support,creating a wine that should evolve gracefully for another five
years.We produced only 200 cases.
